Free Public Workshop

Dancing In The Streets

Friday, August 9 @ 5:00 p.m. | Ocean Park, Oak Bluffs

Presented in partnership with the Oak Bluffs Public Library and Steamship Authority, this program is a fun, engaging 40-45 minute open-air event. Drawing on DTH Resident Choreographer Robert Garland’s Return, a brilliant mashup of ballet and classic social dancing, the public—all ages, all skills—is invited to participate in an old-style Soul Train line...DTH style.

Dancing In The Streets is in partnership with the

Company

The 19-member, multi-ethnic company performs a forward-thinking repertoire that includes treasured classics, neoclassical works by George Balanchine and Artistic Director, Robert Garland, as well as innovative contemporary works that use the language of ballet to celebrate Arthur Mitchell’s belief that ballet belongs to everyone. Through performances, community engagement, and arts education, the Company carries forward Dance Theatre of Harlem’s message of empowerment through the arts for all.
